A deputy director of a cooperative was electrocuted to death.

(Baonghean.vn) - When discovered, Mr. Tran Van D. was in critical condition and died shortly thereafter.

The tragic accident occurred late in the afternoon of July 22 in Dien Minh Commune (Dien Chau District). The victim was Mr. Tran Van D. - Deputy Director of Dien Minh Agricultural Cooperative.

Relatives of the victim said that while checking the electrical system in Dien Minh commune, which he was in charge of, Mr. D discovered that the electric pole in hamlet 5 showed signs of damage. He immediately proceeded to repair it.

Although he had worn a seat belt and used protective equipment, he was electrocuted because he did not cut off the power.

When discovered, the people in the neighborhood took emergency measures for Mr. D, but because the road was deserted and the discovery was late, Mr. D died.

Mr. Hoang Trong Phuc - Chairman of Dien Minh Commune People's Committee said: "The reason for the above incident is because Mr. D is both Deputy Director of the Cooperative and has a contract with the district's electricity to be in charge of tasks such as: checking, repairing power lines, collecting electricity bills from households...".

In the past few days, due to the consequences of storm No. 2, many electric poles and lines were damaged, so Mr. D conducted damage statistics and repairs at damaged power points. By yesterday afternoon, due to negligence in not cutting the circuit breaker, the unfortunate incident occurred.

Currently, authorities are investigating and clarifying the cause of the incident.
