There are two main possible causes: oil mixed with air or a damaged master cylinder. There are air bubbles in the oil, when you step on the brake, the air bubbles are easily compressed, the pressure is not large enough for the brake mechanism to work effectively. Bleed the air (bleed e) to push all the air out. In case the master cylinder is damaged, it is worse than it can be repaired so you have to replace it.
Squealing noise coming from the brake mechanism
