A young man was arrested for 'inciting people in Central Vietnam'
The young man was accused of posting many pictures and videos online about some hot issues in the central provinces with the intention of inciting people.
On the afternoon of April 6, Colonel Nguyen Tien Nam, Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Police, said that the police had just initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and temporarily detained Nguyen Van Hoa (22 years old, residing in Ky Khang commune, Ky Anh district) for the crime of Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the state and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and citizens.
According to the investigation agency, Hoa colluded with a number of foreign organizations to take photos and film sensitive incidents and post them on social media to incite people. "He signed contracts with foreign stations and websites for $1,500 for 16 reports per month," the police said.
Police allege that on October 2, 2016, this young man joined people gathering at the Formosa company area, then recorded a video and posted it on social media, "complicating the security and order situation in the area."
In addition, Hoa was also accused of creating many social media accounts to share images and articles about a number of hot, complicated issues in the Central provinces such as environmental incidents and floods with other organizations and individuals.
Ha Tinh police said "Hoa is a criminal with knowledge of information technology, using many tricks to deal with the situation, causing difficulties for the investigation agency"./.
