A teacher beat an elderly couple and sent them to the hospital.

Thinking that an old couple dumped sand in the middle of the road causing him to fall off his bike, a teacher rushed into the house and beat the couple to the point of hospitalization.

On the evening of April 3, the police of Quang Phuong commune (Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province) confirmed that they are investigating the case of a nearly 80-year-old couple being assaulted by a teacher. The couple is currently being treated at Bac Quang Binh General Hospital.

According to initial information, the incident occurred at around 9:00 p.m. on April 1. At that time, Mr. Tuong Xuan Dang (born in 1940) and his wife Tran Thi Lan (born in 1944), residing in Dong Duong village, Quang Phuong commune (Quang Trach district), were sleeping when Mr. Pham Duc Viet, a local resident, continuously cursed at them and then climbed over the fence into their house to assault them.

Mr. Viet is currently a teacher working at Quang Tien Secondary School (Quang Tien Commune, Quang Trach District).

According to Ms. Lan, when Mr. Viet broke into the house, he reeked of alcohol and kept saying that his grandparents dumped a pile of sand in the middle of the road, causing him to fall off his bike.

Quang Phuong Commune Police then arrived at the scene to make a record of the incident and took Mr. Dang and Ms. Lan to the hospital for emergency treatment.

According to doctors at Bac Quang Binh General Hospital, Mr. Dang suffered multiple injuries, a swollen left eye, and eye socket hemorrhage due to the beating. Mrs. Lan suffered multiple injuries to her neck.

The incident is still under investigation by the police.
