(Baonghean.vn) - From May to August 1945, Tan Trao commune (Son Duong, Tuyen Quang) was honored to be chosen by President Ho Chi Minh, the Party Central Committee, and the Viet Minh General Department as a base to prepare to lead the General Uprising to seize power throughout the country. During the resistance war against the French colonialists (1946 - 1954), Tan Trao was once again chosen as the "Capital of Resistance". This place marked the years when Uncle Ho lived and worked as well as the deep and loyal affection of the ethnic people in Viet Bac for Uncle Ho.

Na Lua hut is where Uncle Ho lived and worked from the end of May to August 22, 1945. In this small, simple hut, many documents, directives, policies, and plans related to the August Revolution were drafted by Uncle Ho. |
 |
Also here, on June 4, 1945, Uncle Ho convened a cadre conference to prepare for the establishment of the "Liberated Zone, Liberation Army", moving towards the National Congress and General Uprising. |
 |
During his time at Na Lua hut, because of the need to keep it a secret, the local people did not know Uncle Ho but only knew him as Mr. Ke (in Tay language, it means an elderly person respected by everyone) with a calm demeanor, a simple and friendly lifestyle. (In the photo: The delegation of officers from the Naval Region 1 Command and leaders of the Propaganda Department of Nghe An, Tuyen Quang and Hung Yen offered incense to the spirit of Uncle Ho at Na Lua hut). |

The Tan Trao banyan tree, one of the symbols and witnesses of the history of the August Revolution of the nation, was the place where the first public departure ceremony of the Vietnam Liberation Army was witnessed. (On the afternoon of August 16, 1945, the Vietnam Liberation Army held a departure ceremony witnessed by the people of Tan Trao and 60 national delegates attending the National Congress. Comrade Vo Nguyen Giap read Military Order No. 1 and immediately after that, the Liberation Army set off through Thai Nguyen to liberate Hanoi). |

Tan Trao Communal House, the place chosen by Uncle Ho and the Party Central Committee to hold the National Congress on August 16-17, 1945. Here, the delegates approved the Party's policy of carrying out a General Uprising to seize power; passed the Uprising Order and 10 major policies of the Viet Minh; agreed with the regulation that the Vietnamese national flag is the red flag with a yellow star, the national anthem is the Tien Quan Ca and elected the Vietnam National Liberation Committee, the provisional government, with Ho Chi Minh as President. |

At the stone slab in front of Tan Trao temple,On the morning of August 17, 1945, on behalf of the Vietnam National Liberation Committee, President Ho Chi Minh read the oath at the national introduction ceremony. There is a detail that the ethnic people here still remember to this day: before reading the oath, Uncle Ho went down to the stream to wash his feet but still stood next to this stone slab.Uncle Ho's tactful actions not only demonstrated his understanding of local customs and practices, but also expressed his respect for the beliefs of local people, because he knew that the "heavenly stone tray" was a display of offerings to worship the gods whenever villagers held ceremonies. |

Mr. Hoang Trung Dan's house, where comrade Vo Nguyen Giap lived and worked from the end of May to August 1945, was also the place where Military Order No. 1 of the National Uprising Committee was typed (ie the order for a General Uprising to seize power throughout the country in August 1945). |
 |
The house is currently maintained and preserved by Mrs. Nong Thi Thu, daughter-in-law of Mr. Hoang Trung Dan. Colonel Pham Van Quang - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Naval Region 1 Command visited and encouraged Mrs. Thu to try to preserve the house so that her children and grandchildren can always come back to visit and learn about the heroic struggle of the nation. |
