According to the decision, with his authority, Mr. Tien advised the People's Committee of Son Hoa district to establish procedures for land allocation and grant of forestry land use right certificates to 3 households in Hon Dat, Son Nguyen commune, contrary to regulations and to the wrong subjects, leading to the destruction of dozens of hectares of primary forest.

In addition, Mr. Tien also advised the District People's Committee to handle administrative violations in the field of minerals against regulations; directed the establishment and signing of false contracts for mineral guarding to withdraw 49 million VND from the district budget... The nature of Mr. Tien's violations was serious, causing bad consequences that made public opinion indignant, damaged his reputation and affected the leadership role of the Party and local government.

Ms. Cao Thi Hoa An, Head of the Inspection Committee of Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee, said that the authorities are continuing to clarify the responsibilities of many individuals involved: “This incident has caused public outrage and people have condemned it. We have also intervened promptly and have advised on serious handling. There are also comrades who have not fulfilled their responsibilities, deliberately made mistakes, violated, and issued wrong land books. First of all, they will be removed from their positions in the Party. After that, we will continue to do so without stopping, so that situations like this do not happen again.”
