Hubless is a characteristic of the vehicle line that appeared a few decades ago. The inspiration came from the design concept of Franco Sbarro, founder of the Swiss sports car company Sbarro.

The characteristic design is the rim with a hollow middle because the actual axle has been increased in size corresponding to the rim instead of being compact and located in the middle.

Another hubless motorcycle has appeared in Thailand, with a video posted online in 2012. This cruiser-style creation is said to have won the top prize at a motorcycle show in Pattaya that same year.
