Mourinho accused of tax evasion in Spain
Man Utd coach is suspected of evading $3.68 million in income tax from 2011 to 2012, when he was still leading Real Madrid.
On June 19, the Madrid prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit against coach Jose Mourinho on suspicion of twice evading tax on image rights. The first time was in 2011 for $1.8 million and the second time a year later for $1.88 million.
This was the period when Mourinho was still leading Real Madrid.

Mourinho was accused of evading nearly $3.7 million in taxes during 2011-2012. |
The accusations come a week after Cristiano Ronaldo was subpoenaed to a Madrid court for similar conduct. Mourinho's former player was accused of evading $16.5 million in taxes between 2011 and 2014. Ronaldo will appear in court on July 30 to answer questions.
Both Mourinho and Ronaldo share the same agent, Jorge Mendes. The Portuguese super-agent is the financial advisor for both, using a third-party company in tax havens like Ireland to circumvent the law and avoid paying high income tax in Spain (45% of income).
Ronaldo and Mourinho worked together at Real from 2010 to 2013, winning a La Liga title, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
The Spanish press reported over the past week that Ronaldo wants to leave Real, pave the way to return to Man Utd and reunite with Mourinho.
