(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the United Nations Vesak Day, Buddhist calendar 2558-2014, on the morning of May 6th, a delegation from the Fatherland Front Committee; the Religious Affairs Department - Department of Internal Affairs; and the Nghe An Provincial Police visited and offered congratulations on the Vesak Day at temples in Quynh Luu district and Hoang Mai town.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the United Nations Vesak Day, Buddhist calendar 2558-2014, on the morning of May 6th, a delegation from the Fatherland Front Committee; the Religious Affairs Department - Department of Internal Affairs; and the Nghe An Provincial Police visited and offered congratulations on the Vesak Day at temples in Quynh Luu district and Hoang Mai town.
At each location visited, on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nguyen – Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee – extended congratulations and greetings to the religious leaders, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday Celebration (Buddhist Calendar 2558). He affirmed and acknowledged the important contributions of Buddhist leaders and followers to the socio-economic development and national unity building of the province. He also encouraged the religious leaders, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to continue to promote their role in uniting local religious leaders, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to live "a good life and a beautiful faith," conducting religious activities in accordance with the direction of "Buddhism, Nation, and Socialism," contributing to building national unity, socio-economic development, and maintaining political security and social order in the area.

Venerable Thich Minh Hai, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Executive Board of the Nghe An Provincial Buddhist Association and Abbot of An Thai Pagoda (Quynh Luu District), expressed his gratitude for the attention given by provincial and district leaders to religious activities in general and to Buddhism in particular. He also hoped that the provincial and district authorities and relevant departments would continue to cooperate and create favorable conditions for the people to successfully organize activities during the Great Buddha's Birthday Celebration (Buddhist Calendar 2558 – AD 2014).
