MU's major overhaul under Ratcliffe and questions about the future
The 2024 summer transfer window sees a completely different Manchester United under new boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
A busy summer at Old Trafford
With financial backing from Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Manchester United had a very busy transfer period.

Names like De Ligt, Mazraoui, Zirkzee and Yoro have joined the Old Trafford team, promising to bring a new breeze to the team.
These signings show the great ambition of MU under the new owner. Sir Jim Ratcliffe clearly wants to bring the Red Devils back to the golden age, with titles and beautiful playing style.
Casemiro revived, is Ugarte still necessary?
Aside from the new signings, a big question is whether MU should continue pursuing Manuel Ugarte or not.
The Uruguayan midfielder has been heavily linked with a move for the club in recent weeks, but Casemiro's return to form in the opening game of the season has led many to question the need for a new deal in the defensive midfield position.

Casemiro proved his importance with an impressive performance against Fulham. The Brazilian midfielder played solidly in midfield and contributed greatly to the Red Devils' 1-0 win.
So should MU spend a large amount of money to buy Ugarte?
The answer to this question is not simple. On the one hand, Ugarte is a promising young talent and could become a mainstay of United for many years to come. On the other hand, spending a large amount of money on an unproven player in the Premier League is a risk.
Besides, having two quality defensive midfielders like Casemiro and Ugarte will help MU have more options and flexibility in playing style. However, this also means that MU's squad will become more crowded.
