MU targets Golden Ball nominee to upgrade attack
MU is planning to reform its attack after a disappointing season with poor scoring performance in the Premier League.

With only 39 goals after 34 rounds - among the lowest in the league - the Old Trafford team is determined to invest heavily in the summer transfer window of 2025.
The Red Devils' top target is striker Ademola Lookman, who has been impressive for Atalanta. Lookman has scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in 37 games this season, becoming one of Serie A's most notable strikers. His versatility in all three attacking positions makes him particularly suited to the 3-4-3 formation that Ruben Amorim - who is likely to take over at Man United next season - wants to adopt.
United are believed to have made formal contact with Atalanta to discuss the deal. The Italian side are demanding around £55m – well above market value – but still considered reasonable given Lookman’s potential and current form.
Along with the shopping, Man United are also considering selling some players to balance the budget and meet the regulations on sustainable profit (PSR). Alejandro Garnacho - a young talent from Argentina - could be sold, with both Napoli and Chelsea interested. Although he was once valued at 67 million pounds, United are willing to let him go for a lower amount, even under 40 million pounds.
If Garnacho leaves Old Trafford, Lookman is not only a potential replacement on the left flank but also adds creativity and versatility to the attack. This is considered an important first step in a comprehensive squad rebuild under Ruben Amorim.
