The most successful Vietnamese film in history has ended its box office journey after welcoming 8.1 million viewers and earning 700 billion VND. Director Dang Thai Huyen said "Red Rain" was a wonderful journey.
According to the announcement from the producer, Red Rain will stop showing in theaters from September 29, after about a month of showing. In the last days of showing, the film still showed its appeal when holding the second position on the daily revenue chart, just behind Sky Deathmatch.
Director Dang Thai Huyen recently posted a letter of gratitude to the audience before her brainchild officially ended its journey at the box office. Meritorious Artist shared that the work has welcomed more than 8.1 million viewers - an unprecedented number in the history of Vietnamese cinema. The director said that the past month has been a wonderful time for her.

"Red Rain on the last days of screening. I stood in a corner watching people line up to watch the movie. I chose the last seat in the theater to enjoy the panoramic view. About 8.1 million viewers came to the theater - according to the distributor's announcement tonight. For me and the crew, this journey has been wonderful," Dang Thai Huyen wrote on her personal page.
Previously, the Red Rain crew announced that they would withdraw the film from theaters after a month of showing. "Red Rain has had a very special journey, being welcomed, shared and spread by audiences across the country. The film has completely fulfilled its mission and, more importantly, left an impression in the hearts of cinema lovers. Red Rain will continue to serve audiences in theaters until September 28, before starting a new journey on many platforms to meet more audiences," the crew shared.
The revenue of Red Rain is currently recorded at about 700 billion VND. A source from Tri Thuc - Znews said that the film's production budget could be up to 70-80 billion VND, in addition to about 10 billion VND for distribution and promotion. After sharing with theaters and deducting these expenses, the actual profit earned by the producer is estimated to be about 160-200 billion VND.
