(Baonghean) - Leaving behind the sounds of the panpipes, the flutes, and the dances of the past Tet holidays, the women of Vang Lin village (Yen Thang - Tuong Duong) take rice and go up the mountain to collect bamboo shoots. These days, the cold has just come to the village, at 6am, when the morning dew is still on the leaves on both sides of the road, the women are already calling to each other...

Collecting the bamboo was not easy at all. It took the women more than 2 hours to reach the top of Cang Hem mountain, in the freezing cold weather. The steep slopes forced them to cling tightly to the bushes on both sides of the road to climb. The bamboo bushes had leaves as sharp as knives, and if they were not careful, they could scratch their faces and hands.

Currently, each fresh bamboo shoot costs 35,000 VND. On average, a person can collect 50 kg of fresh bamboo shoots per day. Thanks to the bamboo shoot season, many families in Vang Lin village have had a significant source of income.
