Mr. Dinh Viet Nam - Vice Chairman of Thanh Lien Commune People's Committee (Thanh Chuong) said: "According to preliminary statistics, the whole commune has nearly 20 hectares of rice that are heavily flooded, with the rice collars submerged, concentrated in the pond areas of the hamlets: Lien Truong, Lien Minh, Lien Phuc. At the same time, more than 10 hectares of corn were also knocked down. In addition, many areas of rice that people had harvested and brought from the fields to their homes, but due to local flooding in residential areas, the rice was washed away into the garden, causing damage of up to a ton".

According to Mr. Nam, although we had previously received information predicting heavy rain, we urged people to harvest early with the motto "better at home than in the fields", but because the rice was not ripe enough to harvest and the harvesters had not arrived in time, most of the area had not been harvested yet," Mr. Nam added.

Mr. Tran Phi Hung - Head of the Department of Agriculture of Thanh Chuong district said: "We have established delegations to visit the fields and count the damage in the localities. At the same time, we have directed the communes to mobilize irrigation teams to coordinate with farmers in the fields to dredge drainage ditches and remove banks to drain water. However, currently, the water is receding very slowly, the risk of rice grains falling off, germinating and rotting is high. If it continues to rain, it will be very difficult to overcome."
