(Baonghean.vn) –The recent days of heavy rain have drowned the hopes of salt farmers in Quynh Luu. Many salt fields are submerged in water.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tin in Tan Thinh hamlet, An Hoa commune lamented: Her family's entire life depends on 3 sao of salt, but in the past few days of heavy rain, all the salt fields have been submerged in a vast sea of water. Salt farmers have no work when it rains.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quyet - Chairman of An Hoa Commune People's Committee said: The whole An Hoa commune has nearly 160 hectares of salt production land, 100% of which was flooded and damaged by high tides. The possibility of losing a whole month of salt production is very high because it is not easy to restore the salt fields, and there is no more time to make salt because the rainy season is approaching. It is estimated that losing a whole month of production will cause a loss of over 2,000 tons of salt, sold at 1,500 VND/kg, an estimated loss of 3 billion VND.
