(Baonghean.vn) –The past few days of heavy rain have dashed the hopes of salt farmers in Quynh Luu. Many salt fields are submerged in water.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tin from Tan Thinh hamlet, An Hoa commune, lamented: "Our entire family's livelihood depends on 3 acres of salt fields. In recent days, heavy rains have submerged the entire salt field in a vast expanse of water. The rising water has damaged the salt pans and flooded 1.2 tons of salt stored in the warehouse. We don't know how our family of five will survive."
The salt fields in An Hoa are completely submerged in water.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quyet, Chairman of the An Hoa Commune People's Committee, stated: "In An Hoa commune, nearly 160 hectares of salt production land have been completely flooded and damaged by tidal surges. The possibility of losing an entire month of salt production is very high because restoring the salt fields is not simple, and furthermore, there is no more time to make salt as the rainy season is approaching. It is estimated that a month of production loss will result in a loss of over 2000 tons of salt, selling at 1,500 VND/kg, totaling an estimated loss of 3 billion VND."
