(Baonghean.vn) - From October 13th to 15th, provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall exceeding 200mm, with the southern Nghe An-Hue area receiving approximately 300-500mm.

According to the Central Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting Center, on the morning of October 13, the low-pressure area strengthened into a tropical depression over the sea area of ​​the Hoang Sa archipelago.

The strongest winds near the center of the tropical depression are at level 6 (40-50km/h), with gusts at levels 7-8.

Forecast for the next 24 hoursThe tropical depression is moving in a west-southwest direction at a speed of approximately 20 km per hour. By 04:00 on October 14th, the center of the tropical depression was located at approximately 16.1 degrees North latitude and 107.0 degrees East longitude, on the Vietnam-Laos border. The strongest winds near the center of the tropical depression were at level 6, with gusts of level 7-8.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression, the sea area around the Hoang Sa archipelago, the Gulf of Tonkin, and the offshore waters of provinces from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will experience strong winds of level 6, gusting to levels 7-8; rough seas. From this evening onwards, coastal areas of provinces from Ha Tinh to Quang Nam will experience increasingly strong winds, reaching level 6, gusting to levels 7-8.

Furthermore, due to the southwest monsoon, the central and southern areas of the South China Sea (including the waters around the Spratly Islands), the sea areas of Binh Thuan-Ca Mau, Ca Mau-Kien Giang, and the Gulf of Thailand will continue to experience strong thunderstorms. Sea waves will be 2-3 meters high; the sea will be rough.

Due to the combined influence of a tropical depression, the northeast monsoon, and an upper-level easterly wind disturbance, heavy to very heavy rain (over 200mm/total rainfall) is expected in provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai from today until October 15th.

Specifically in the southern Nghe An-Hue region, rainfall is forecast to be around 300-500mm.

The southern Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam will continue to experience rain, moderate rain, with some areas experiencing heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms over the next 2-3 days.

Due to heavy rainfall, from October 13th to 15th, floods will occur on rivers from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai. During this flood, water levels on rivers in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and the La River (Ha Tinh) will generally reach alarm levels 1-2; the Ngan Sau River, Ngan Pho River (Ha Tinh), and rivers in Quang Binh may reach alarm levels 2-3.

There is a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams; landslides in mountainous areas, and flooding in low-lying areas and along riverbanks in the provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue, especially in the following districts:

Nghe An:Tuong Duong, Ky Son, Que Phong, Quy Chau, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Quy Hop, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Tan Ky, Nghia Dan

Ha Tinh:Huong Khe, Huong Son, Vu Quang

Quang Binh:Tuyen Hoa, Minh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Le Thuy.
