The couple in Nam Dinh smiled brightly during their wedding ceremony despite having to wade through floodwaters and take a boat to get home.

Heavy rains lasting for two days have caused many roads in Nam Dinh to be deeply submerged in water. Therefore, Mr. Tien Dat in Yen Nhan commune, district of Y Yen took a boat to pick up his bride Pham Hoa (in Vu Ban district, Nam Dinh) at the wedding.

On the morning of October 10, the groom's family rolled up their pants to their knees and crossed a flooded road nearly a kilometer out of the alley to pick up the bride. When the bride arrived at the groom's house, the alley was still flooded, and the groom's friends had prepared a small flower boat for them to move to the wedding hall. The groom rolled up his pants and waded through the water to pull the boat, while the bride sat on it.

“Because of the deep flood, we had to borrow a boat for Mr. Dat to take his wife home. This is truly a unique wedding in the area,” a friend of the groom shared.

Groom Tien Dat said that despite the rain and wind, the big day could not be postponed. “The wedding by boat will definitely be a memorable event for us,” said Dat.
