The coastal area of Quynh Luu district, Hoang Mai town is a large vegetable granary of Nghe An. Ms. Ho Thi Huong - a trader in Hoang Mai town said, in order to transport goods to Vinh market to import to the wholesalers, she had to get up at 4 am to ride her motorbike to the vegetable fields in Quynh Van commune, Quynh Tan (Quynh Luu) to buy. At this time, green vegetables are scarce, so every morning, she buys from many places with the quantity of 1 - 1.5 tons of vegetables of all kinds, then transports them to consume.
According to Ms. Ho Thi Minh - a trader in Quynh Luu, currently vegetables are scarce so they have to accept higher purchase prices. A week ago, the price of green onions bought at the field was 28,000 VND/kg, but now the price has increased to 32,000 VND/kg; lettuce 25,000 VND/kg; bitter melon 15,000 - 18,000 VND/kg; sweet cabbage 10,000 - 12,000 VND/kg... On average, the price of all vegetables has increased 2 - 3 times compared to before.
"If the unfavorable weather continues, people will not be able to plant a new crop of vegetables in time, and the purchase of green vegetables to supply the market will be limited; revenue loss due to the weather will cause a severe shortage of goods," said Ms. Minh.

According to market points in Vinh city, green vegetables are still sold a lot but not diverse in types.Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan - a trader at Hung Dung market (Vinh city) said that after days of prolonged rain, green vegetables are often difficult to buy. Many days, the market stalls do not have enough goods to supply consumers.
