Cinnamon season in Muong village
(Baonghean) - From the beginning of May until now, the people of Muong village, Chau Kim commune (Que Phong district) have entered the cinnamon harvesting season. These days, visiting the village, one can witness the people busy with the harvest.
Currently, traders are buying cinnamon bark at 21,000 to 22,000 VND/kg for thick, large pieces; and 12,000 to 15,000 VND/kg for smaller pieces. Thanks to the higher purchase price of cinnamon this year compared to previous years, cinnamon growers are very pleased.
Cinnamon is a valuable medicinal plant. Cinnamon growers not only sell the bark, but the trunk of the cinnamon tree is also bought by traders at a high price (1 million VND/1 cubic meter).
