Harvest season in Quynh Luu
(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, farmers growing star apples in Quynh Luu district (Nghe An) are busy harvesting star apples. This year, due to the impact of storms and rains, the star apple yield of many households has decreased sharply.
Mr. Trinh Xuan Mui's family in village 6, Quynh Chau commune has 1 hectare of sorrel that is being harvested. These days, his family has focused on manpower and hired more than 10 workers to harvest. With the above area, Mr. Mui expects to harvest 7 tons of fresh fruit. With the selling price to traders of 18,000 VND/kg, this season, his family has more than 100 million VND.
Mr. Mui shared: Soursop trees can be harvested after 7 years, once a year, with relatively stable productivity. However, this year, storm No. 2 caused many fruits to fall, an estimated loss of about 3 tons of fruit, and income has decreased.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Trong Tu's family in Hamlet 4A, Quynh Chau Commune, waited for the so-called "ka" fruit to ripen, fall to the ground and split open, then he hired someone to pick it up. His family has nearly 3 hectares of so-called "ka" fruit. Up to now, after nearly 1 month of harvesting, he has sold 2 tons of so-called "ka" fruit, earning 70 million VND and is still picking up so-called "ka" fruit. It is estimated that this so-called "ka" fruit season, Mr. Tu's family will earn about 150 million VND.

Tan Thang Commune is the locality with the largest area of sapong cultivation in Quynh Luu District. The whole commune has 61.3 hectares, of which 35.2 hectares have been harvested. However, the recent storm No. 2 caused a lot of damage to the farmers growing saapong, with an estimated yield of 1.2 tons of dry seeds/ha (about 50% lower than previous years).

Currently, So is chosen by many households in mountainous communes such as Quynh Chau, Quynh Thang, Tan Thang in Quynh Luu district to replace some areas of other ineffective crops.
