At the trial, the defendant admitted to the crime. Khanh stated that all the money obtained through fraud had been spent. In front of the victims, the defendant offered an apology.

Considering the defendant's actions were dangerous to society, involving repeated acts of fraud and misappropriation of large sums of money, the court sentenced Banh Quoc Khanh to 10 years in prison. The court also ordered the defendant to return the misappropriated money to the victims (minus the amount already paid as compensation).
