It's not predatory animals or venomous insects, but the Anopheles mosquito that is the most dangerous creature in the world.
According to a scientific study published on July 14th on Colombia's Proyecto Vida (Project for Life) portal, Anopheles mosquitoes are the greatest threat to humans, claiming the lives of 725,000 people each year through the transmission of malaria.
Next on this list of "killer" animals are freshwater snails, intermediate hosts that transmit schistosomiasis, which kills 110,000 people annually, and roundworms – intestinal parasites that cause 60,000 deaths each year.

Snakes rank fourth, killing approximately 50,000 people annually, followed by dogs – the cause of rabies (40,000 deaths/year), trypanosoma cruzi – the culprit behind Chagas disease, affecting the cardiovascular and nervous systems and causing 12,000 deaths/year, tse-tse flies causing sleeping sickness (9,000 deaths/year), and tapeworms (2,000 deaths/year).
Following these "lightweight" creatures come the large, ferocious animals such as crocodiles (1,000 deaths/year), hippos (500 deaths/year), elephants and lions (100 deaths/year each), wolves and sharks (under 100 deaths/year).
