My Tam's new MV is hot thanks to being 'unique'
The script and performance of the MV "Don't Ask Me" are completely different from recent Vpop products.
While the MV "Dau chi rieng em" has not yet stopped being hot, singer My Tam continues to release a new MV called "Dung hoi em" after only 3 months. This is a song composed by My Tam herself, arranged by musician Khac Hung.
“No trumpets, no drums”, no teasers as usual except for a photo revealing the character’s appearance, however, as soon as it was released, the MV Don’t Ask Me quickly became a hit, continuously shared by the audience on social networks with many compliments. So what makes this MV so attractive?

The MV "Don't Ask Me" has just been released and has been spreading strongly on social networks. |
Although no longer in her prime, My Tam is still a top name. Naturally, whatever she sings, whatever she does, whatever product she releases, it spreads its appeal as a matter of course. My Tam's fans span many groups and ages, constantly sharing links to new products, causing the MV to receive nearly 400,000 views, nearly 20,000 likes, and nearly 3,000 comments within half a day.

The MV praises simple, innocent, and sincere love in the midst of war. |
MV Don't Ask Me is My Tam's first MV with content praising the simple, innocent, sincere love during the war between a teacher (My Tam) and a soldier played by Mai Tai Phen. However, social events gradually separate them, leading to conflict and then tragedy strikes when the girl uses her body to shield her lover from bullets.
Still with the message praising sacrifice in love, however, the new form of expressing the story helps the MV become more attractive and different from current Vpop products. The MV script was also written by My Tam herself.
Another difference is that the MV does not have a happy ending, and even contains many conflicts. However, many viewers shared that this is a reasonable choice to praise the girl's instinctive love and sacrifice, even though she still has unresolved misunderstandings in her heart.

The female singer showed her ability to act with passion. |
A viewer with the nickname Angel Loving wrote: “Sacrifice without calculation, in an urgent situation, can only be an instinctive act of wanting to protect the loved one to continue living. As the old saying goes, loss and incompleteness will make people feel tormented and regretful, so it goes deeper into people’s hearts.” Many viewers also shared that they burst into tears when watching the scene where the officer burst into tears when witnessing the sudden death of the girl he had devoted all his love to.
The MV produced by the Kawaii crew also shows the attention to detail in images and frames, from each ao dai, conical hat, backpack, country road, rice field, and primitive classroom. The old film color recreates the correct historical period.

The MV ends sadly, bringing many emotions to the viewers. |
As for the song, although the music is not considered to be too groundbreaking, My Tam still succeeds in combining profound, sad lyrics with a gentle, soulful melody.
Besides compliments about the MV's content, many fans also humorously linked the content of the MV "Don't Ask Me" with the MV "Em Gai Mua" because of the appearance of Mai Tai Phen as an actor.
“After the war, the lover went to the city to study Pedagogy to continue the career that Ms. Tam pursued. And in his final year of university, he did an internship at Huong Tram's school. There he met Vy, a student in his internship class... The two had feelings for each other, but because he still loved Ms. Tam, the rain teacher only saw Vy as a younger sister!”, the audience with the nickname Dang Quang improvised his own story.
