The US is accused of violating all principles of the United Nations.

On September 19, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza accused the US government of violating all principles of the United Nations Charter and of grossly interfering in the independence and sovereignty of countries around the world.

Speaking to reporters at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Mr. Arreaza affirmed that Venezuela is a peaceful country and no country can and has the right to violate the sovereignty of this South American country.

He accused the White House and its Latin American and European allies of plotting to suffocate and drown the Venezuelan people with economic sanctions.

At the same time, Mr. Arreaza called on Washington to adjust its policy of interfering in Caracas' internal affairs.

Mr. Arreaza also rejected the statements made earlier in the day by US President Donald Trump and accused the White House of trying to overthrow the regime in Venezuela by force. He affirmed that no empire can force the people of this country back to the time of “slavery.”

Earlier, in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, US President Trump had harsh criticisms aimed at the government and President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro. Mr. Trump threatened that the US was preparing to take “new actions” if Caracas did not change its current policy./.
