US deploys missile defense system in South Korea - a challenge to Russia
The deployment of the US missile defense system in South Korea is the next challenge that Russia will 'deal with'; Pyongyang's ballistic missile tests are just a pretext for such steps from Washington, - said Senator Viktor Ozerov, Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee in the Federation Council.

According to Renhap, the United States has begun deploying the THAAD missile defense system in South Korea. The news agency wrote that components of the THAAD unit were brought by S-17 strategic military transport aircraft to the military base in Osan on Tuesday, including two missile launchers.
"This is another challenge for Russia, we will deal with it. The General Staff will conduct an analysis, draw conclusions and present to the country's leadership proposals for response measures," — Mr. Ozerov said.
The senator said that North Korea's ballistic missile tests were just an excuse for the US to deploy a new missile defense system in South Korea.
"Under the cover of the threat from North Korea, they want to, if not encircle Russia, then at least encircle it from the west and east," said Mr. Ozerov, recalling that Washington "has long been talking about the intention to strengthen the missile defense group in South Korea."
