US warns of major consequences if Russia uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine
US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan warned on September 25 that the US would respond decisively to any Russian nuclear attack in Ukraine, while also warning of major consequences for Russia.

Speaking to CBS on September 25, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stressed that the US and its allies would act decisively if Russia used tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine. According to Mr. Sullivan, the US has communicated privately, directly, and at very high levels with the Kremlin that the use of nuclear weapons would lead to major consequences for Russia.
Mr. Sullivan said that Russian President Putin has brought up the nuclear card at many times and the Biden administration needs to take it very seriously because this is a very serious issue as this could be the first time nuclear weapons are used since World War II. Mr. Sullivan also affirmed his commitment to continue supporting Ukraine, including military aid of up to more than 15 billion USD./.
