The United States will not ban the export of components for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft made in Russia, a senior US official said.

Asked whether the supply of components to the Sukhoi Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur would be subject to sanctions, the US official said that the US “is not targeting things like the supply of spare parts and ensuring flight conditions”. “Right now, this is not a priority for us,” he said.
Initially, the production of the SSJ-100 aircraft used up to 80% imported components, but then the proportion of imported components gradually decreased. The new version SSJ-100R is expected to use up to 50-60% domestic Russian components.
On September 20, the US added to the sanctions list 33 companies and individuals from Russia, allegedly involved in the "defense and intelligence sectors". Among them is the "Su" Komsomol aircraft factory named after Gagarin.
