US may resume issuing visas to Russian citizens
The US says it may resume limited interviews at its three consulates in Russia for people seeking US visas.
The US has temporarily stopped issuing non-immigrant visas in Russia after Moscow ordered the US to cut the number of diplomatic staff to 455. The US said it had to withdraw consular staff who handle visas.

At that time, the US said it would start visa interviews at its embassy in Moscow and would not issue visas at its consulates in Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok.
However, a diplomatic cable sent to US missions abroad obtained by the AP news agency said that “limited visa services” were resumed from September 1./.
