"There is a vacuum in the world's collective leadership role,"Vice President of Iraq"The Americans need to reassume their role as an important international power," Ayad Allawi said in an interview with CNN today.
Mr. Allawi said that AmericaThere is no international strategy for the coalition that is fighting against the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) militants and helping Iraq in this fight.
According to him,regardless of the factIraqi forces backed by the US are gradually pushing IS out of the country,America still lacks a larger strategy as well.clearer policyin combating extremists.
"There is no definitive policy on what to do and where to go. I think they are still figuring out their strategy for Iraq. Nothing is concrete yet," he said.
Although Iraqi government forces are retaking much of Mosul from IS, Iraqi intelligence says the rebels are trying to form an alliance with al-Qaeda. HeAllawi said hwho this group is negotiating both in Iraq and Syria with connections of former membersal Qaeda,those who never joined IS."It is a fusion of evil forces," he said.Allawispeak.
Previously, US National Security AdvisorHR McMaster affirmed on June 28 that Washington's strategy in the Middle East is still being implemented well. The US, Syria and Iraq have achieved successes but "there is still a lot of work to do".
