US proposes building anti-Russia strategy in energy sector
The US strategy for “ensuring the energy security of European allies” should include a mission to counter “Russian dominance in Europe”, a bill for sanctions against specialized vessels that lay pipelines and serve other purposes was posted on the US Congressional website on Saturday.

"The US strategy includes the following elements: diversifying allied energy sources, countering the Russian Federation's efforts to establish energy dominance in Europe," the website writes.
The bill was submitted to the National Assembly on May 14, but the full text was only released today.
In addition, the proposed new sanctions are intended to strengthen and enhance the US diplomatic role in Europe and the Middle East, and to energize the European energy infrastructure system.
The bill's authors include Senators Ted Cruz, Jeanne Shaheen, John Barrasso and Tom Cotton.
The document, previously announced by the group of authors, is aimed primarily at the Russian project "Nord Stream - 2".
