US sends 50 armored vehicles to Syria to destroy IS

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said a convoy of 50 US armored vehicles entered the southeastern region of Deir Ezzor province, eastern Syria, on October 25 to join the fight against the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) militants..The US move comes as Washington is trying to support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), led by Kurdish militias, to destroy IS on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.
According to SOHR, this US armored convoy arrived at a military base recently established near Hajin, one of the last towns controlled by IS in Deir Ezzor province, to serve as a springboard to launch an attack on the rebels.

At a joint press conference on the morning of October 26 in Beijing, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang announced that the two sides had signed more than 500 trade contracts, with a total value of more than $1 billion.2.6 billion USD, during Mr. Abe's official visit to China. Several cooperation agreements were also signed, including a currency swap agreement that had not been ratified since 2013.
This is the first time in 7 years that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has made an official visit to China to promote bilateral cooperation amid the trade tensions between the two sides with the US. Mr. Abe's 3-day visit is expected to help improve trust between the two sides, as Sino-Japanese cooperation has experienced many ups and downs since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1972.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 26 called on Saudi Arabia to reveal the whereabouts of journalist Jamal Khashoggi and asserted that Ankara still has other evidence in the case. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also asked Riyadh to provide the identity of the "local contact" who received Khashoggi's body from Saudi agents to dispose of it after the journalist was killed inside the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, Türkiye, on October 2.
