The USS Indiana submarine, SSN 789, is 115m long and has a beam of 10.3m. It has a nuclear-powered jet engine that allows it to travel at a speed of about 46 km/h.
The USS Indiana submarine weighs about 7,800 tons and can carry a crew of up to 130. It is equipped with 12 vertical missile launch tubes and 4 533 mm torpedo tubes.
The USS Indiana submarine was manufactured by Huntington Ingalls Industries and completed sea trials last August. This is the 16th Virginia-class submarine to be commissioned.
The USS Indiana submarine was built using new technology, increasing firepower, stealth capabilities and significantly enhancing combat capabilities.
