At the Pentagon press conference, reporters asked Joseph Dunford and Defense Secretary Ashton Carter to comment on "the US idea of military cooperation with Russia in Syria."
"I think, as you know, our cooperation with Russia is limited by contacts that ensure the safety of our flights and our personnel," General Dunford said. According to him, "US Secretary of State John Kerry is currently discussing with the Russians a number of other initiatives."
For his part, Mr. Carter suggested "see what the US Secretary of State will achieve, so that Russia "starts doing the right thing in Syria." According to him, Moscow "supports the Syrian regime, thereby prolonging the civil war."
