US calls on Israel to be 'transparent' over Gaza school attack
The US has called on Israel to be transparent about its attack on a UN school in Gaza, including whether children were killed.
"The Israeli government has said that they will release more information about this attack, including the identities of those who died in the attack. We expect them to be fully transparent in releasing that information," US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters.

The Israeli military confirmed it carried out a precision strike on a Hamas compound inside a school run by the UN agency assisting Palestinian refugees UNRWA.
Mr. Miller said the United States believed Israel's assessment that Hamas sometimes hid in civilian infrastructure, but stressed that Washington was awaiting information about the latest attack.
The United States has asked Israel to provide more information about an Israeli airstrike on a school in Gaza that killed civilians, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said on Thursday.
"We just asked for more information about what happened, they responded to us and said we were targeting 20 to 30 fighters. There needs to be full transparency, which is what we've called for in other cases," Miller said at a news conference. "We think they should release any other details."
Meanwhile, the head of the UN Palestinian refugee agency said Israel bombed one of its schools in Gaza "without warning" to thousands of displaced people sheltering there.
For his part, Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said nine “terrorists” were killed when warplanes attacked the school. Hagari said in a televised speech that the jets hit three classrooms, where about 30 Islamic Jihad and Hamas fighters were hiding./.
