According to Mr. Novikov, the drones that attacked the Russian base carried explosive devices containing “small metal pellets.”
General Novikov said that it was impossible to create such weapons under the conditions in Syria and that “it is possible that they were created with the participation of specialists trained in the countries that produce and use this type of drone.”
The Russian military is currently investigating the origin of the drones.
On January 6, 13 drones attacked Russia’s Hmeimim and Tartus bases in Syria. Seven were shot down while the remaining six were taken over and captured by the Russian side./.
