According to Lenta news agency, the new laser weapon is based on the LaWS (Laser Weapon System) technology that Lockheed Martin is developing for the US Navy.
The system uses the principle of spectral channel compression when the energy of multiple laser devices is merged into one beam.
It is known that the contract to manufacture laser cannons for F-15 fighters is worth 26.3 million USD and was signed within the framework of the SHiELD (Self-protect High Energy Laser Demonstrator) program to manufacture lasers used to intercept air-to-air and ground-to-air missiles.
