VTV's handsome weatherman was once a national best teacher, and was texted 70 times by fans.
Weather MC Tran Thanh Tung received calls, text messages, emails, comments on social networks, and even flowers and packages from fans, but the most memorable thing was that they called 70 times.
Clip following a working session of MC Thanh Tung:
Becoming a VTV MC has been my childhood dream.
- Many people know that you are a university lecturer, a weather forecast MC for VTV and a lecturer at an MC training center. How do you arrange your time to complete so many tasks?
It was a difficult problem, not an impossible one for me. To do anything, you must have the desire. But that alone is not enough. I always try to plan everything I do, commit to deadlines so that everything does not overlap. And it was only later that I learned a profound lesson that you do not necessarily have to work hard to do something alone. Find the right partners - people who can listen, share and support you to complete your goals.

- For you, being a lecturer and editor-MC, do these two jobs complement each other?
These two jobs have many similarities and complement each other quite well. Whether I am a lecturer or an MC, I have to understand my audience very well and update myself with new things related to my profession so that I do not become "old". Because I am a lecturer, my presentation will have a hint of the logic of a scientist. And because I have experience from my MC work, my ability to communicate to students will also be more favorable and lively.
- What does becoming a VTV MC bring you?
Becoming a VTV MC has been my dream since I was a child. When it became a reality, I was extremely happy. This job allows me to be creative and constantly change. I get to go to many places, meet many people, contemplate and learn. I feel like I am always active. And the most "profitable" thing is the attention and love of the audience. Every morning when I wake up, I read messages, whether they are compliments, criticisms or comments from the audience, I feel very proud!
- In your opinion, what factors are important for a weather presenter?
Our weather forecast is only on air for about 2 minutes but requires the MC to apply many things. In addition to the basic skills of an MC, they also need to have certain knowledge of meteorology, have interactive skills and graphic analysis skills... But when presenting the weather forecast, I think the most important thing is that the host must have a vibration with nature.
Any weather phenomenon from sunshine, rain to natural disasters, storms and floods all have their own voice. And if you truly live in that information, truly feel every change of nature, it will be conveyed to the listener in the most natural, sincere and easily absorbed way. The MC must be the one to tell the weather story, leading the audience's emotions, not simply the one to read the weather information.
Always have to "upgrade" yourself when working at VTV

- Many people will choose to develop only one job, you have the appearance and also pursued the MC career before becoming a lecturer, why didn't you choose MC as the only direction?
I think it's all about personal choice. I allow myself to try things that I believe I can do well. And once I've made a choice, I just try my best. Luckily, up to now, everything is going smoothly and favorably.
- If someone says you are a VTV MC just for the "label", how would you respond?
To get the “label” as people say is not simple at all. Maybe people do not believe, although I had many years of experience as an MC before, but when I came to VTV, I had to study and adjust everything according to the very strict requirements and standards of this environment. Here, each individual must demonstrate their ability and progress to be able to maintain the job.
Standing still means you have eliminated yourself from the game. That sometimes creates pressure, but in some aspects it is the motivation that urges us to “upgrade” ourselves every day. If I worked at VTV just for the “label”, I would not have had the perseverance to stay. I really long to be trained in a professional journalism environment like VTV.

- In the MC profession, do you have any idols?
I have a habit of always observing other MCs. I observe all MCs. From MCs that "everyone knows" to MCs that "no one knows". Sometimes when I go out and see a small event, I have to stay a little bit to observe the MC of that program. I like to learn good things and working energy from them. I believe that everyone has something to learn. However, there are also some MC faces that I especially love. A diverse, lively, and flexible Tran Thanh who can make the audience laugh and cry in the most natural way. MC Khac Nguyen with a very intellectual and profound way of hosting. MC Ngoc Trinh of VTV24 with a unique image and way of hosting, watching her host is impossible to take your eyes off the screen. I really admire them.
Female fan called him nearly 70 times
- How does good looks benefit a presenter?
I didn’t pay much attention to this before, but I see more and more that it’s wrong. Audiences nowadays have very strict requirements. They want to watch a program that is not only good in content but also good in appearance. An “eye-catching” MC who appears immediately attracts the audience’s attention. That is extremely important before we try to keep them with other things.
- As the "male god" of the female weather forecasters, do you feel favored?
A lot. Knowing that I often have to teach in the morning and that my house is far away, my female colleagues also take on the responsibility of helping me with the morning news. The leaders always listen and create the best conditions for me to complete my tasks. I am always grateful and appreciate that.
- People always see MC Thanh Tung as elegant and stylish. Is that the image you want to build in the hearts of the audience?
Actually, I don't try to build any image. From my appearance to the way I host the show, everything is just expressing who I am. Sometimes I ask myself: will it be boring to stick with this elegant, mature, and safe image forever? And then I also try to break out, change this and that, but it doesn't go anywhere. I realize that those things don't seem to belong to me. So now, sometimes I can change and refresh myself a little, but still within a certain framework. When I'm myself, I feel most confident. Being safe is also a style!

- You are both handsome and have a good background, you must have many female fans and students flirting with you?
Yes! The forms are also very diverse: Calling, texting, writing emails, commenting on social networks, even sending flowers, sending packages, all kinds. And the most “impressive” is that one person was determined to call and beep at me nearly 70 times. When I held the phone, it felt hot and almost drained the battery.
At that time, I also felt quite upset, but later I just smiled when I thought about it. Those were very lovely memories in my journey of teaching and working as an MC. Obviously, they must have liked me to pay such attention. Speaking of which, I just remembered, why haven't I seen anyone show any signs lately? Or is it because I'm getting old? (laughs).
- Surely many people want to know if you have a girlfriend?
I am currently a single, fun teacher and MC. I may say that to sound fancy, but I can still be listed as “single”. But no matter what, even if I am single, I have to be single with my head held high.

Thanh Tung also takes time to enjoy life when he has time to rest.
- What kind of girl will make Thanh Tung's heart flutter?
I am always impressed by women who are refined in their behavior and communication. The beauty that radiates from their character and heart always has the most lasting attraction.
