Indian beauty crowned Miss Grand International 2024
Having surpassed nearly 70 competitors, Rachel Gupta from India became the winner of the Miss Grand International 2024 crown. Meanwhile, Vo Le Que Anh (Vietnam) went home empty-handed in this year's competition.

The Miss Grand International 2024 final took place on the evening of October 25th in Bangkok, Thailand, hosted by MC Matthew Deane and featuring nearly 70 international contestants. Thanks to her outstanding performance in the bikini, evening gown, peace presentation, and Q&A rounds, Rachel Gupta (India) was crowned the winner. She was overwhelmed with emotion upon the announcement and couldn't contain her happiness as she received the crown from her predecessor, Luciana Fuster (Peru).
Rachel Gupta's coronation as Miss Grand International 2024 came as no surprise to viewers following the competition. From the start to the final round, the Indian beauty was consistently among the standout contestants, considered by many beauty websites as a strong contender for this year's crown. The new Miss Grand International is 20 years old, possesses a striking and captivating beauty, stands 1.78m tall, and has body measurements of 82-61-91.
Ahead of the finals, the beauty queen was considered to possess all 4B criteria that a Miss Grand International needs: Beauty - Body - Brain - Business (beauty, physique, intelligence, and earning potential). She even claimed to have a fifth element – Bollywood (referring to her potential for success in the Indian entertainment market). Rachel Gupta has a large fan base, attracting over 1 million followers on Instagram. On her personal page, she introduces herself as an actress, model, and businesswoman.
Besides her perfect figure and professional performance skills, Rachel Gupta captivated the judges and audience at the final night with her persuasive and intelligent presentation and Q&A abilities. When asked, "What do you think is the most important problem the world needs to solve, and what solution do you propose?", the beauty queen stated that she believes it is poverty caused by overpopulation and a shortage of resources.
"I think this is the time for world leaders to take responsibility and start spreading the idea of providing adequate resources for everyone. We can do this through promoting family planning in many different countries. I come from India, where not everyone has access to food, clean water, education, or basic necessities, and this is also happening in much of the rest of the world. This is the time we should stop fighting each other, respect each other, and focus on ensuring that everyone on this planet has adequate resources," she shared.
Que Anh left empty-handed.
Rachel Gupta's spectacular victory means that the first runner-up title goes to Christine Juliane Opiaza (Philippines). Previously, the second runner-up was awarded to Thae Su Nyein (Myanmar). The third runner-up was Safiétou Kabengele (France), and Talita Hartmann (Brazil) was the fourth runner-up.
The remaining five beauties in the top 10: Arlette Rujel (Peru), Susana Medina (Spain), Amy Viranya Berry (England), Kristina James (Dominican Republic) and Nova Liana (Indonesia) all received the title of 5th runner-up.
Vietnamese beauty queen Vo Le Que Anh ended up empty-handed in this year's competition, failing to make it into the top 20 and then losing the Miss Popular Vote award (the contestant with the most audience votes) to the Indonesian contestant, thus missing out on a wildcard entry into the top 10. This result also ended Vietnam's eight-year streak of successfully advancing through the Miss Grand International qualifying rounds.
Besides the main awards, the Miss Grand International 2024 organizers also presented several special awards throughout the final night. The Country's Power of the Year award went to the contestant from Thailand, securing her a spot in the top 20. The National Costume award went to contestants from Brazil, Ecuador, and Honduras. The Best in Swimsuit award went to the contestant from the Philippines. The Indonesian candidate won the Miss Popular Vote award and automatically qualified for the top 10.
