US believes Ukraine's military is on the brink of collapse
(Baonghean.vn) - A US Armed Forces Colonel commented that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are on the brink of collapse.

Colonel Douglas McGregor, a former adviser to the Pentagon chief, said the conflict with Russia is getting worse for President Volodymyr Zelensky, as Ukraine's military is on the brink of complete collapse.
“The Ukrainian armed forces are on the verge of collapse. They are completely demoralized, there are large numbers of Ukrainian soldiers who have gone to the Russian side, and have fled the battlefield. People are trying to avoid military service of any kind in Ukraine. The Zelensky regime has big problems,” said Colonel Douglas McGregor.
According to this expert, the current situation for the Ukrainian leader is very worrying: the army is being destroyed in an unsuccessful counterattack. Kiev is also having difficulty recruiting new soldiers to compensate for the losses.
Sharing the same view, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are stuck in a cycle of death, gradually losing their most experienced soldiers.
In another development, Twitter users in the US expressed anger at a statement by Ukrainian President Zelensky: Expressing gratitude to President Joe Biden and the American people for providing a new military aid package worth 500 million USD.
"That's why I stopped paying taxes. I don't want my money to go to foreign conflicts that my country has nothing to do with. Let Russia and Ukraine resolve their differences themselves," one Twitter user said.
"Zelensky just announced that there will be no new elections in Ukraine until the fighting ends. This means that the Ukrainian people are stuck in an unsolvable conflict. The US should not continue to provide aid for this" - another opinion.
The Pentagon said the cost of US military aid to Ukraine since President Joe Biden's term has exceeded $40.7 billion.
