'World's sexiest' beauty arrested for beating her husband

American actress Naya Rivera faced accusations in court over the weekend that she beat her husband, actor Ryan Dorsey.

Rivera, 30, was charged with domestic violence after attacking her husband while they were in Ryan's hometown of Chesapeake, West Virginia. The attack allegedly occurred while the couple was walking with their two-year-old son, TMZ reported.

During the argument, the former Glee star, who was crowned "Sexiest Woman Alive" in 2011, hit her partner Dorsey on the head and lower lip.

Actor Dorsey, who recorded the argument on his cell phone, later called police and had Rivera arrested on November 25.

In a brief statement in court, Rivera said she was willing to hire an attorney to represent her in the upcoming trial. Domestic violence can result in a year in jail and a $500 fine.

The incident has sparked heated debate on social media about the role of women in domestic violence.
