US, Japan, South Korea to discuss North Korea issue in early June
Senior officials from Japan, the United States and South Korea plan to meet in Tokyo on June 1 to discuss issues related to North Korea's nuclear program.
Officials from the three countries are expected to discuss the current situation in North Korea following the 7th National Congress of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea, the three countries' reactions, as well as issues related to the United Nations Security Council's sanctions against Pyongyang.

At this trilateral meeting, three special envoys from Japan, the United States and South Korea will discuss cooperative measures on the North Korean nuclear issue to persuade North Korea to change its attitude towards its nuclear program through full implementation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Tensions on the peninsula have increased in recent months after North Korea conducted its fourth nuclear test on January 6 and launched a satellite on February 7 using a ballistic missile, violating a UN ban./.
