US says situation of Ukraine's Armed Forces is 'extremely desperate'
(Baonghean.vn) - The US State Department's deputy spokesman considers the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the front to be extremely desperate.

According to RIA Novosti, US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said on May 16 that the US considers the situation of the Ukrainian army to be extremely desperate.
"Clearly the situation is desperate. We know these are difficult times, but we also believe that military support can lead to change on the battlefield," said Vedant Patel.
According to the New York Times, commanders and soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also complained about the difficult situation on the front, noting that Ukraine is more vulnerable than at any time since the first weeks of the conflict.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also admitted that the country's army is in a difficult situation before the Russian army's advance, especially in the Kharkov region.
According to retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis, President Zelensky does not even know that, in fact, there are no fortifications in Kharkiv. According to Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis, some of the proposed defense positions were built in Kharkiv with US and EU aid money. And as a result, Ukraine has not started building them, all the photos and videos of the fortifications are just "fiction".
American economist Jeffrey Sachs commented that President Zelensky could face anything, due to the increasingly bad situation in the country, when soldiers do not follow orders, and there are very tense and public conflicts between political leaders in Ukraine.
According to economist Jeffrey Sachs, US aid was simply thrown away, because it did not stop Russia's attack. Sachs also reiterated that President Zelensky will no longer be able to lead the country on May 21, according to the Ukrainian Constitution./.
