Admiral Aquilino will lead the US Indo-Pacific Command as the region becomes a priority for the US military amid growing competition with China.

Speaking at a Senate hearing, Admiral Aquilino said that China considers the annexation of Taiwan as its number one priority, and warned that the possibility of China seeking to attack Taiwan could happen sooner than many people predict./.
