On October 18, the head of the Crimean Peninsula, Sergei Aksyonov, said that authorities were searching for an accomplice of a male student who may have participated in a shooting and bomb attack at a college in the city of Kerch. According to the latest figures, the attack on the college in the Kerch region left at least 20 people dead and more than 50 others injured. The Russian Investigative Committee said the attack was a mass murder, not a terrorist attack.

Previously, Crimean officials said this was a "lone wolf" attack carried out by an 18-year-old student at the Kerch Polytechnic Vocational College. However, in the latest exchanges with Russian news agencies, Mr. Aksyonov said that the perpetrator, identified as Vladislav Roslyakov, may have had accomplices to help carry out this attack. According to this official, the key point is to find the person who instructed Roslyakov to carry out the above crime because the male student could not have prepared the attack himself.
