Venezuela reopens border crossings with Brazil and Aruba

The Venezuelan government has officially announced the reopening of land border crossings with Brazil, as well as sea and air crossings with the island of Aruba after more than two months of closure.

Venezuela's Vice President for Economic Affairs Tareck El Aissami said that after tensions that occurred at the end of February, the Venezuelan government received a commitment of respect, friendship and cooperation in resolving the problems from the Aruba government. Therefore, Caracas decided to reopen flights and cruises to the Caribbean island.

Mr. El Aissami also affirmed that trade relations with Brazil, especially the exchange of goods and services with the state of Roraima, which is close to the border between the two countries, have been restored.

After China, the EU will be the next target of US tax review.

French National Assembly passes bill on restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral

After 13 hours of intense discussion, with 32 votes in favor, 5 votes against and 10 abstentions, the French National Assembly passed a controversial bill on restoring Notre-Dame Cathedral within 5 years, after the famous world heritage located in the heart of Paris was destroyed in a major fire last month.

The bill on the restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral will be submitted to the French Senate for consideration on May 27.

Pentagon allocates another $1.5 billion for Trump's border wall project

The Pentagon announced an additional $1.5 billion for a plan to replace 125 kilometers of fence on the US-Mexico border to prevent illegal immigration, after proving that the money was not taken from the budget for combat missions and other important work.

US President Donald Trump declared a national emergency in mid-February to use about $8 billion in funding from various departments, including military construction funds, for the project to build a wall on the border with Mexico without congressional approval.
