My Tam and her students caused a sensation at the The Voice final.

The fiery duet between My Tam and her protégé Duc Phuc, featuring a vibrant medley of familiar songs by the legendary band ABBA, kept the audience at the Voice of Vietnam 2015 final on the evening of September 13th on the edge of their seats. They cheered and shouted non-stop for the duo.

Last night, the 2015 The Voice finale featured performances by four contestants from four teams: Yen Le (Tuan Hung's team), Duc Phuc (My Tam's team), Hoang Dung (Thu Phuong's team), and To Ny (Mr. Dam's team). Each contestant performed three songs, including a duet with their coach.

My Tam's student shines

With three performances in the final night, My Tam's student - the shy Duc Phuc - was judged to be the most outstanding.

Blessed with an emotional voice, My Tam's protégé often chooses poignant, gentle songs to touch the hearts of listeners. His simple, unpretentious singing style is also a way for Duc Phuc to score points and create his own unique style. My Tam set increasingly difficult challenges for her student, Duc Phuc, to help him perfect himself with his second song, "Chay Di Song Oi" (Flowing River). This is a difficult song, containing cultural and historical depth that a young contestant like Duc Phuc would find hard to fully express. Therefore, a boy who was already insecure like Duc Phuc had to research, experience, and showcase his talent more to overcome his own limitations on stage. This performance deeply moved and made My Tam proud. She also commented that Vietnamese showbiz is lacking talents like Duc Phuc, whose soul and voice make listeners forget his "not-so-handsome" appearance.

And in the final performance with coach My Tam, the two truly set the stage ablaze with a medley of once-popular hit songs by the band ABBA. With this medley, Duc Phuc proved that he not only possesses emotion and a strong voice but also professionalism and ensures the entertainment value of a performing artist on stage.

From a shy boy hesitant to interact with the outside world, Duc Phuc now confidently showcases his singing voice and personality, proving himself to be a professional artist despite his less-than-photogenic appearance. Yen Le and Hoang Dung - a two-horse race!

Unlike Duc Phuc's shyness, Yen Le and Hoang Dung displayed maturity and high determination in the race for the Voice of Vietnam championship.

Yen Le is a familiar face who has competed in many competitions, but it was on The Voice that her talent was recognized and she truly shone. Her singing voice is considered stable and has its own unique style. But more importantly, she proved her songwriting talent on the Voice of Vietnam stage with a series of songs that rivaled those of professional artists. Yen Le represents a generation of talented and versatile young artists.

In last night's final, Yen Le continued to perform a self-composed song - "Sincere Thanks," as a token of gratitude to the audience, coaches, and family and friends who have supported her throughout this time. Despite being her debut, the song immediately created a sensation on stage and resonated with both the audience and the coaches, proving Yen Le's songwriting talent and becoming the most important highlight of her journey in conquering The Voice Vietnam this year.

Like Yen Le, Hoang Dung is also a noteworthy contestant at The Voice this year, possessing both a beautiful voice and professional songwriting abilities. Despite not being highly regarded for his looks, Hoang Dung is considered a "new discovery" by Thu Phuong, having risen from nothing and completely won her over. She awarded him a perfect 100 points in last week's semi-final to give him a chance to showcase his talent. Thu Phuong's decision sparked much controversy, but ultimately, Hoang Dung proved himself worthy and is a refreshing and exciting new addition to the Vietnamese music scene.

With their beautiful voices and innate songwriting abilities, Yen Le and Hoang Dung promise to be two formidable rivals in the final leg of the competition to win the championship.

Will To Ny be the surprise factor?

Tố Ny caused a surprise in the semi-final night when she overcame strong opponent Vicky Nhung to reach the final, a calculated move by Mr. Đàm.

Although she doesn't possess an outstanding singing voice, To Ny is a versatile talent, and according to Mr. Dam, only she has the ability to compete with the "warriors" from other teams.

To be fair, To Ny's singing voice isn't particularly stable or unique, but she displays impressive versatility in each performance, making it impossible for the audience to predict her next move. Her performances are meticulously and elaborately staged, sometimes poignant, sometimes energetic, and at other times breathtaking. This contestant also proves she can sing many different genres, from pop to dance, traditional Vietnamese opera, and more. It's safe to say To Ny is a very noteworthy contestant in Mr. Dam's competition this year.
