America finds a way to break the Tu-95MS combined with Kh-101
The US will upgrade its B-2 multi-role bombers to counter Russian strategic bombers.
The US Air Force plans to upgrade the computer and communications systems and other systems on the Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit strategic bomber, the National Interest reported.

The US Air Force will upgrade its communications systems to ensure the best reception, processing and transmission of information, and the system is capable of operating under the high electromagnetic pulse conditions of nuclear explosions.
The upgraded version of the B-2 bomber must be able to carry out missions on the orders of the US President and receive information even after a nuclear attack, in the event of a nuclear war, the Pentagon stressed.
“We are working to improve and enhance the capabilities of the B-2. One of the areas of focus is ensuring the ability to communicate and operate the control system under nuclear war conditions,” said Arnold Bunch, one of the heads of weapons procurement for the US Air Force.
To complete this plan, the Americans will equip the B-2 aircraft with a very low frequency information reception system. According to the plan, this work will begin in early 2018.
The use of this new low frequency system allows for increased reliability, ensuring data transmission.
In addition, in the conditions of nuclear war there is a possibility of operating the EHF (very high frequency) function, the equipment of this system on the B-2 bomber has begun and will be completed in the near future (this function is used to communicate with satellites).
Current communication systems operating in the ultra-high frequency (UHF) band would not be able to function in the event of a nuclear attack, in which case their operational capabilities would be limited.
The newspaper also emphasized that the modernization of the flight control microprocessor system is based on shortwave technology. The microprocessor allows to increase the working capacity, optimize the computer system more than 1000 times, allowing faster and more accurate navigation and target attack.
In addition, the new version will also be equipped with the latest weapons. In particular, the B-2 will be equipped with the B61-12 (currently being upgraded) and B61-11 nuclear bomb versions.
In addition, the US also plans to equip this new version of the aircraft with long-range cruise missiles, especially the high-precision AGM-158 JASSM missile.
Previously, this newspaper also emphasized that the strength of the Russian air force has been significantly enhanced and especially noted the latest cruise missiles Kh-101 and Kh-102 (which can carry nuclear warheads).
Their combination with the Tu-95 and Tu-160 strategic bombers would pose a potential threat to the US.
Therefore, this US strategic bomber upgrade plan seems to be a preparation step to deal with Russian strategic bombers in modern warfare.
