North Korean leader's plane appears at Vladivostok airport

South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported on July 9 that a plane believed to be the private jet of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was spotted in the Russian port city of Vladivostok.

It is unclear whether the North Korean leader was on board the plane. According to the source, it appears that North Korean officials arrived in Vladivostok to prepare for Kim Jong-un's possible attendance at the Eastern Economic Forum, scheduled to be held in Vladivostok in September.

The Ukrainian Navy said on July 9 that the annual international military exercise, called Sea Breeze 2018, had begun in the southern city of Odessa.

This naval, air and ground exercise, hosted by Ukraine and the United States, involved more than 2,000 soldiers, 30 warships and a series of aircraft from 19 countries.

The exercise is expected to take place for two weeks in the cities of Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, southern Ukraine.

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has resigned amid disagreements in the British cabinet over the country's exit from the European Union. British Prime Minister Theresa May has accepted his resignation. Earlier, Brexit Secretary David Davis also resigned.

Prime Minister May struck a compromise with her deeply divided cabinet last week during a day-long meeting at her country home. But after consulting with friends and allies, Mr Johnson decided he could not support the deal.

Just hours after talks with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on July 7, the North Korean Foreign Ministry said the US's attitude was "regrettable" and that Washington was trying to force Pyongyang to unilaterally denuclearize.

"I see China behind this reaction. We are in a war with China,"Politicoquoted Senator Graham's statement on North Korea's statement. "If I were President Trump, I would not let China use North Korea as an advantage in the trade dispute. We have more 'ammo' than they do on trade."

Mr. Graham is considered one of the most "hawkish" senators in the Senate. He often expresses tough foreign policy views with countries that have tense relations with the US such as North Korea, Russia, and China.

AFP reported that on July 9, Recep Tayyip Erdogan was sworn in for a second term as President of Turkey, becoming the man holding more power than any Turkish leader in decades under a new regime condemned by the opposition as a one-man government.

President Erdogan was sworn in for a new five-year term at a special parliamentary session, after which he is expected to attend a key ceremony at the Presidential Palace, marking the transition to a new presidential administration with more powers.

End of second rescue day in Thailand

Rescuers ended the second phase after bringing four more teenagers out of the Tham Luang Nang Non cave. The ambulance carrying the eighth boy arrived at 8:22 p.m. on July 9.

Earlier, according to a witness who was a member of the rescue team stationed in front of the cave entrance, the rescue operations on July 9 had ended. Four more teenagers were brought out, bringing the total number of rescued victims to eight boys. Currently, there are still four boys and their 25-year-old coach in the cave.

All the rescued children have been taken to hospital for observation and their identities remain confidential.

China's Ministry of Commerce said on July 9 that it will use revenue from tariffs on US imports to ease the impact of US trade actions on Chinese companies and their employees.

The ministry said it would encourage companies to increase imports of items such as soybeans and vehicles from other markets.

On July 6, Beijing and Washington imposed tariffs on each other's imports in a move that is becoming a widening trade war.
