US sanctions Turkish company for arms sales to North Korea
According to the US Treasury Department, SIA Falcon International Group will be blacklisted for conducting arms sales transactions with North Korea.

The United States on October 4 imposed sanctions on a Türkiye-based company and some of its executives for allegedly trading weapons and luxury goods with North Korea. A North Korean diplomat was also hit with similar US sanctions.
The US Treasury Department said SIA Falcon International Group will be blacklisted for its arms dealings with North Korea. The group’s CEO and general manager will also be sanctioned for directly or indirectly representing the group.
US sanctions were also imposed on Ri Song-un, the economic and commercial attaché at the North Korean embassy in Mongolia, for discussing arms deals with the group.
The US sanctions come as the US continues to pressure North Korea to dismantle its nuclear and missile programs. The US sanctions are aimed at blocking trade channels and cutting off funding for North Korea's weapons programs.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will visit North Korea this weekend to resume talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on dismantling Pyongyang's nuclear and missile programs. The discussions are expected to include a second meeting between Kim Jong-un and President Donald Trump, which could take place later this year./.
