Myanmar: Aung San Suu Kyi receives additional 3-year prison sentence for election fraud
A court in Myanmar on September 2 convicted Aung San Suu Kyi of election fraud and sentenced her to three years in prison with hard labor.

This is the latest punishment against Aung San Suu Kyi, former leader of the National League for Democracy (NLD), who was arrested by the military on February 1, 2021.
Recently, in a closed trial on August 15, she was sentenced to an additional 6 years in prison for her involvement in 4 corruption cases, bringing her total prison sentence to 17 years in 10 lawsuits with a series of accusations, including corruption, violating election regulations...
Aung San Suu Kyi has denied all the allegations.
